While many of us are busy running the race of life to make money and fame, here is a heart-touching message from Irrfan Khan that reminds us how life is much more.
Recently, Irrfan Khan took to social media to share that his body had been “gatecrashed” by “unwanted guests”. His heart-touching message hinted at cancer & ongoing treatment.
While talking to the Indian Express, Irrfan shared how the cancer struggle made him learn the true meaning of “running out of time”.
“I had become excessively busy, so much so that I almost missed (watching) my sons (Babil and Ayan) become young adults from little boys. I was running out of time all the time. Ironically now, I have kind of an idea what ‘running out of time’ actually means.”
He further added how this struggle helped him clean the clutter from his life:
“Honestly, I don’t know. I really don’t know. While some days are great, others are bad. Most of the time, I think I am cleaning the clutter away from the noise.”
In another interview with the Hindustan Times, Irrfan Khan shared how the cancer struggle also changed his life, his perception, and his relationships with people. He has become more sensitive to others and started recognizing small gestures of kindness.
“When your life experience changes so drastically, the actor is bound to change too. Actors get their stimuli from their personal life. I will be indebted to this film’s crew all my life. I wasn’t sure if I would be able to shoot in such extreme weather, but Anil Mehta (cinematographer) made it easier. Perhaps, I have become more sensitive because I noticed even the smallest of gestures of those around.”
When asked about whether he is nervous about how things would unfold for him, Irrfan said:
“To be honest, all my anxiety has been exhausted with the roller-coaster ride of this disease. I am content that we have been able to make a happy film. So, the answer is: no, I am not nervous. I am just happy and nothing else.”
In an era, where many of us tend to ignore our family and loved ones for the things that shouldn’t matter, Irrfan’s message is an important reminder. We wish Irrfan a lot of strength and a speedy recovery!
