Every year, the whole country gear up to celebrate a nine-day-long Hindu festival – Navratri. Various parts of the country celebrate Navratri for different reasons, but the main theme of the celebration remains the same – the victory of good over evil. The final day of the festival is called Dussehra or Vijayadashami.
As the name – Navaratri itself signifies that it is the celebration of nine nights. These nine nights symbolize the battle between Durga and the devil Mahishasura. Each day is associated with a different Avatar of Durga. These nine Avatars are called the Navadurga.
