From applauding Anupam Kher’s acting to calling it a soul-shaking experience, many took to social media to share their views on the movie:
You might have seen numerous videos of Kashmiri Pandits breaking down in the theatres after watching #TheKashmirFiles. The emotion is real. It shows how long we kept our pain and tragedy repressed as a community. We didn’t have any shoulder to cry on and no ear to hear our pleas. pic.twitter.com/cAXZpSzDnK
Watched the Kashmir files yesterday with my whole family at the theatre. Nd couldn’t resist myself from posting about it. Got to know so much about my own country, which no school, no college has ever told us. Felt guilty of not knowing about our own Kashmir.#TheKashmirFilespic.twitter.com/LqT9slCa6L
Congratulations @vivekagnihotri for #TheKashmirFiles. You have succeeded outside the system, on your own terms. Ideologically or otherwise I might disagree with your views and films but as a colleague I must commend you.
Being married to a Kashmiri Pandit, I know first hand of the atrocities that this peace-loving community has gone through. But majority of the nation is still unaware. It took us 32 years and a film to get to know the truth. Please watch and support #TheKashmirFiles . 🙏 https://t.co/rjHmKVmiXZ
I know it sounds cliched and might as well be – I will die peacefully now. My story has been told. It’s been told beautifully. I bow down to the entire team behind the movie & the unsung heroes. Now our story is yours. Treat it carefully. #TheKashmirFiles@vivekagnihotri
It’s been hours & I’m still recollecting myself from flashbacks of Pushkarnath Pandit.#TheKashmirFiles is not a film but the gut-wrenching reality of a genoc!de took place 32yr back & carefully kept under the carpet so far. 1/ pic.twitter.com/dPDVfIXSqM
