No one can deny how Bollywood has failed millions of times in showcasing reality onscreen. And, when it comes to students attending schools and colleges, it has failed miserably.
Many unrealistic student characters of Bollywood wear such dresses as if they are attending Bollywood awards ceremonies rather than school or college. These unrealistic characters are so fancy that they neither care about the weather nor about the fact that they are mere students. No one dresses up like them in college OR school in the real world!
From wearing heavy makeup to shimmery dresses, here are some of the wildly unrealistic looks Bollywood movies have served us assuming that we are stupid! These looks are just another reminder of how our Bollywood movies are unrealistic and senseless.
1. Shanaya played by Alia Bhatt in ‘Student Of The Year’
While watching Alia Bhatt’s character Shanaya, the first thing that crosses your mind is who wears such clothes to a high school? And, the second – which high school allows students to attend classes while being buried under kilos of makeup and, clad in sequins, heels and so many more accessories! In reality, who does all this at school?
2. Tanya Israni played by Sana Saeed in ‘Student Of The Year’
Was Sana Saeed’s character Tanya Israni going to a high school or to a party? Though Sana Saeed’s character was supposed to be a schoolgirl in this film, unfortunately, the way she dresses up make us wonder what is the reality? From carrying big bags to wearing bandage dresses, she seems all set for a Page 3 party, but during school hours!
3. Rohan Sachdev played by Tiger in ‘Student Of The Year 2’
Neither what he does nor his clothes are remotely realistic in terms of a college student’s life. In most scenes, Tiger Shroff is either wearing ganjees, or roaming around with his shirt unbuttoned, jumping from place to place like a cheetah. Imagine attending chemistry class with someone like that.
4. Poo played by Kareena Kapoor in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’
In the list of unrealistic characters attending classes, how we can forget Poo from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham! By the way who wear fur, latex or sequins to college?
5. Rohan played by Hritik Roshan in ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’
In the cold London weather, Hrithik Roshan roams around in vests in college. The movie makes us wonder why he sacrifices normal clothing for tight-fitted vests!
6. Vicky played by Uday Chopra in ‘Mohabbatein’
Even though Gurukul’s principal, Narayan Shankar (played by Amitabh Bachchan) was so strict, he never asked Uday Chopra to zip up his jacket? Why? How he keeps roaming around wearing nothing but just a jacket makes us wonder whether he is a student or a bodybuilder!
How Bollywood makers dressed up these student characters in unrealistic attire is just another reminder how it fails miserably when it comes to building realistic characters and movies! Either Bollywood makers don’t know how normal people dress up for their classes or they assume that we are stupid enough to believe them!
There are many more unrealistic characters that could be added to the list. Do let us know which unrealistic student character we missed!Â
