Chak De! India did something big for Indian movies – it made us fall in love with sports movies. Plus, it tackled some real issues that women face in our society, and it gave us moments we can’t forget and will cherish for the rest of our lives.
One of those moments is when SRK’s character, Kabir, brings the whole team to McDonald’s, and things get wild. See, Kabir thinks the team isn’t getting along, so he says he’s quitting. But before that, he wants one last lunch together.
Now, at McDonald’s, two annoying guys start teasing Molly and Mary with rude comments. Big mistake! The women don’t back down; they fight back.
What’s cool is that in most movies, the hero saves the day, especially when it comes to women. But not here. In this scene, the women take charge. They use whatever’s handy – brooms, chairs, even their hockey sticks, and fries – to give those guys what they deserve.
While all this chaos is happening, SRK’s character just calmly eats his burger. It’s a fantastic scene to watch – women showing they can handle themselves.
We remember this scene because it’s subtle and real. It reminds us that movies don’t always need a hero to save the day.
And guess what? The internet loves it too! Here’s how people reacted:
since its release there has not been a single scene in hindi cinema as viscerally satisfying as the one in chak de india where women pummel the shit out of men and absolutely destroy a mcdonalds while SRK casually bites into a burger.

Kudos to the minds to include such scene which makes the entire movie memorable. Earlier it was Amit talking to Shiv or Jesus which made his movies with ‘ kya scene hain’ tags?

It is in fact. However, the only thing that turned it sour for me was the homophobic ‘chhakke’ wordplay by SRK when he stops the guy who’s attacking the girls behind their back. Forgiven, yet problematic. But then again it was 2007.
