Many filmmakers live in delusion. They spend crores of rupees and an endless amount of time on the movies that are either written badly, or are built around a dumb plot. And, these dumb movies make you wonder what’s wrong with these people? You tend to even question the intelligence of superstars who agree to do such stupid movies! These movies are just the reflection of the lowest standards of our film industry!
We have compiled a list of some of the dumbest Bollywood movies that made us wonder – Why were they even made?
1. Sadak 2Â
An ideal example of how film-makers can’t serve anything relevant to the Indian audience anymore. Even with the most popular Bollywood actors like Alia Bhatt, Sanjay Dutt, and Aditya Roy Kapoor, the movie just collapsed at the box office. The movie was a disaster because it lacked everything – poor screenplay, unengaging script, and lack of direction! While Sanjay Dutt did justice to his role, Alia Bhatt wasn’t as impressive as we expected her to be! We still don’t get why Aditya Roy Kapoor was there in the movie. This 2 hours 14 minutes long movie is a complete waste of time. Btw, the movie currently remains the worst-rated Bollywood movie of all time on IMDB.
2. Coolie No. 1Â
While Coolie No. 1 reminds us of Govinda’s great acting, this remake wasn’t even close to its original version. Makers need to understand that fancy locations and costumes aren’t the only things that make a movie. Seriously, another dumb movie that was not at all required!

3. Main Prem Ki Diwani HoonÂ
Though this movie had big names like Kareena Kapoor, Hritik Roshan, Abhishek Bachchan, the two things that this multi-starrer didn’t have were – a good storyline and some acting skills. With endless overacting and a stupid plot, this movie makes you wonder why was this movie ever made?
Right after college, Kareena’s life revolves around getting married. Even though she is just 20 years old, the only discussion in her life is about marriage. She meets Prem, who is hot and super into her. So, initially they hook up, but later it is revealed that it is the wrong Prem. And, then the right Prem ( Abhishek Bachchan) appears and makes the whole movie so much more boring. Hrithik Roshan’s and Kareena Kapoor’s overacting and Abhishek’s lack of energy, makes you ask Bollywood, why this torture? Why?
4. Saawariya
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Saawariya turned out to be another disaster. The overhyped debut film of Sonam and Ranbir Kapoor was nothing more than a snoozefest. Raj falls in love with Sakina, sings a bunch of songs for her, and tries to win her because he doesn’t have anything to do in his life! But, sadly Sakina tells him that she is waiting for another man, Imaan, whom she loves. And, how can we forget the whole movie also has an ominous blue glow.
5. Kya Kool Hain Hum Series
One word for this series – Trash! These movies makes you wonder how the film certification board ever allow for such a movie to be made? Full of misogyny and sexism, these movies are the dumbest of all!
6. Khaali Peeli
Do we really need to tell you, why we didn’t need this movie! From the problematic song to the awful acting skills of Ananya Pandey and Ishaan Khattar, there is hardly anything that doesn’t disappoint the audience. Another movie that we could have done without!
7. Salman Khan Movies
Sadly, once known for great movies like Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam or Maine Pyaar Kiya, recent movies of Salman Khan are quite disappointing – from Kick to Jai Ho to Veer to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo to Dabbang 2 and 3 and many others! With no storyline, no acting skills, stiff action scenes, and a lot of item songs with women dancing around the 54-year-old actor, summarizes Salman’s recent movies.
8. Tees Maar Khan
The only reason many went to see this movie was because of Katrina Kaif’s ‘Sheila ki jawani’ number. But, sadly even the song could not save a comedy that can only make you laugh if you have turned your brain off along with your phone in the theatre.
9. Himmatwala
In simple words, you need himmat to watch this masterpiece by Sajid Khan. Remake of a 30-year-old movie is even worse than the original!
10. Rascals
The movie which is a third-grade comedy, a series of dumb misadventures, and something that is not at all funny.
There are many more Bollywood movies that are really very dumb and problematic. These movies are just a reminder for Bollywood that it can do better! Let’s just hope things get better in the coming years.
