1. Sherni

Directed by Amit V. Masurkar, Sherni is a 2021 Indian thriller film based on the real-life story of IFS officer KM Abharna. The movie revolves around a female officer- Vidya Vincent (Vidya Balan) – who is on the prowl to capture and relocate a man-eating tigress alive to the adjacent National Sanctuary. However, she faces hostility from various sides, as she tries to do her job. The boldness, determination, and persistence of Vidya Vincent are the perfect inspiration for any girl, who is fighting for her dreams.

2. SHE

SHE is a 2020 Indian crime thriller web drama series directed by Arif Ali and Avinash Das. The story revolves around Bhumika (Aaditi Pohankar), a female constable in the Indian Police Force who is enlisted in the Anti-Narcotics Group to take down a prominent drug lord. As a part of the mission, Bhumika goes undercover as a prostitute.

 While she strives hard to perform her duties, her struggles at home continue. From fighting against her abusive husband to taking care of her mother’s illness and her sister’s college studies, Bhumika refuses to give up!

3. Haq Se

Inspired by “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott, Haq Se is a show directed by Ken Ghosh. The show revolves around four sisters – Meher (Surveen Chawla), Jannat (Parul Gulati), Amal (Nikkesha), and Bano (Aanchal Sharma) and their dreams as they strive for the same thing: fulfillment. The beautiful yet disturbing volatility of Kashmir serves as the backdrop for this contemporary tale of hope, want, love, war, and the never-ending pursuit of happiness. 4. Aarya

When it comes to crime thrillers, female characters are hardly awarded a meaty role. But, Aarya is different. The whole series is built with Arya Sarin at the center. 5. Delhi Crime

In this crime drama, Shefali plays the role of a police officer, who puts rapists behind bars. The character of Vartika is about strength, courage, determination, persistence, and love!

7. Made in Heaven

Made In Heaven is a 2019 Indian romantic drama web series. The plot centers on the lives of Delhi-based wedding planners Tara and Karan Tara Khanna is a complex character. She is a woman in a man’s world, and hence, she uses unscrupulous means to reach the top. These means might not be right, but understandable. And, what makes this character so heartwarming is the fact that when she has enough power, she does not shy away from supporting her friends and fellow women. 9.Thappad

The movie focuses on the critical issue of domestic abuse and male entitlement. This movie is a tight slap on the face of a society that raises entitled men who believe they are superior to women. This film attempts to showcase how our entitled men treat their wives and mothers as second-class citizens. It is a beautiful story that shows how domestic abuse is never okay – even if it is just one slap!

13. Mrs. Chatterjee VS Norway

Directed by Ashima Chibber, Mrs. Chatterjee vs. Norway is an upcoming 2023 Indian drama film. The story follows an Indian mother, Debika Chatterjee (Rani Mukherjee) who immigrated to Norway and wages a war against the judicial system and foster care system to regain custody of her children.

14. Mimi

Directed by Laxman Utekar, Mimi is a 2021 India comedy-drama film. The story revolves around Mimi (Kriti Sanon), a gorgeous young girl who wants to become a Bollywood actress.  Harboring big dreams but not the means to achieve them, she reluctantly agrees to become a surrogate for a couple. How she faces tough decisions with all the courage leaves you inspired and motivated.
