Though Bollywood has a lot of talent, it is sad how it side-lines the talented actors and gives opportunities to many, who are less deserving. But, thanks to OTTs like Amazon Prime Video, Disney+Hotstar, Netflix, Sony Liv, things are changing. Thanks to OTT, we are getting a chance to enjoy so many underrated talented actors and actresses.
Be it well-known actors like Shefali Shah or Manoj Bajpayee or Neena Gupta or, new performers like Jeetendra Kumar, OTT has given these actors a fair chance to shine that Bollywood failed to.
One such talented actor, who made her mark on OTT is Sunita Rajwar.
Even though she has played supportive roles to the main cast, she managed to steal the limelight as well as our hearts with her powerful acting skills. Be it Bittu Ki Mummy In Gullak or Kranti Devi (Pintu ki Mummy) in Panchayat 2, Sunita Rajwar has done justice to her roles. With the writer’s quirky dialogues and her perfect comic timing, she added so much value to the shows in the limited screen time she had. Every time she appeared on screen, she made us laugh.
With the limited body of work, Sunita has a knack for playing intriguing and distinctive characters. No one can play nosy pados wali aunty better than Sunita.
In Gullak, there’s not a single shot, when Bittu ki Mummy appears and doesn’t make us laugh. In fact, for her great performance, she even received a well-deserved Filmfare Award in 2021 for Best Supporting Actress for her work in the web series.Â
Apart from her performances in these web series, Sunita Rajwar has also worked in films like Stree, Bala, and Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan.
Sunita Rajwar may have played supporting roles but this incredibly talented actress made her mark every time. With a great screen presence, she has always done justice to her characters. With her talented acting skills, Sunita has made all her characters so memorable. Even after being supporting characters, they received the same kind of love and attention as the leading characters.
With her memorable roles as Bittu ki Mummy or Pintu ki Mummy, this underrated actress definitely deserves more screen time. Let’s hope that happen soon and we get a chance to see Sunita Rajwar in a lead role. Dear Bollywood & OTTs, are you listening?
