Sudipto Sen’s latest film “The Kerala Story” has hit theaters amidst several controversies and mixed reviews. Starring Adah Sharma, Yogita Bihani, Sonia Balani, and Siddhi Idnani, the drama has been produced by Vipul Amrutlal Shah.
The synopsis of the film by the makers quotes, “A spine-chilling, never told before the true story – revealing a dangerous conspiracy that has been hatched against India.”. While some Twitter users have praised the film, calling it “goosebumps-worthy,” others have criticized it for allegedly creating religious disruptions and promoting a fake reality.
Despite the mixed reactions and controversies, “The Kerala Story” has collected a whopping amount at the box office on its opening weekend, surpassing Vivek Agnihotri’s super-successful movie – The Kashmir Files, which was released last year.

2. Selfiee
This Akshay & Emraan starrer is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Driving License. The movie managed to collect INR 16.85 Crores in its lifetime run. Even though it had Akshay Kumar, who is one of the most popular Bollywood actors, the movie tanked miserably at the box office. What a disaster!
3. Jayeshbhai Jordaar
Ranveer Singh starrer, Jayeshbhai Jordaar was made on a massive budget of 90 crores INR. But, unfortunately, it only managed to earn INR 26.31 at the box office. While the movie was very much appreciated on OTT, it fell flat at the box office.

Controversy About The Kerala Story
While The Kerala Story is breaking records at the box office, there are many who are criticizing it and calling it propaganda. Recently, the leading actor of the film Adah Sharma took to her Twitter account and gave a reply to those calling The Kerala Story a ‘propaganda’ movie. She called her movie ‘real’ and urged everyone to Google ‘ISIS’ and ‘Brides’ to know the truth.
“And for the few still calling #TheKeralaStory a propaganda film, saying these incidents do not exist even after watching testimonials of several Indian victims,my humble request, Google two words ISIS and Brides…maybe an account of white girls narrated to you might make you feel that our Indian movie is real (sic),” she wrote.
