Recently, Netflix released the teaser of the upcoming project, ‘The Archies.’ Helmed by Zoya Akhtar, this musical drama is inspired by the popular Archie Comics. Set in 1960s, the film stars Khushi Kapoor, Suhana Khan, Agastya Nanda, Yuvraj Menda, Mihir Ahuja, Vedang Raina and Dot in key roles. But, as soon as the teaser was released, the Nepotism debate was reignited.

Hey Netflix, this is why ur money tanks in India 😁 pic.twitter.com/rYbjAegtoV
People be like”You have never seen these Nepotism kids act so don’t make judgement they might act good” but it’s not about that. It’s more about what we could’ve gotten for our money spent if the process of selection was fair. When I spend my money I don’t want good, IWantTheBest https://t.co/ES5QD8QVu9

Also extra marks for the self-awareness (?) that the makers of this film have shown in highlighting the surnames in a larger font compared to the names

No wonder Netflix is lost so much, look at the way last names are highlighted, proof that “meritorious” casteist brahmin savarnas, caste nepotism is the only merit. https://t.co/gjr84BBHhD

Can one imagine how talentless and useless one has to be to become a movie actor or actress just because “mere papa / mummy bhi the”. And how many talented people get left out because of these celeb kids.
