In the current crisis of coronavirus pandemic, we are witnessing some unusual stories of humanity. Recently, a 3-year-old “baker” kid and his parents won the hearts of many as they donated Rs 50,000 to Mumbai Police.
In the battle against Coronavirus, many heroes have come forward to support the country during these tough times. These heroes – young and old, have proven to the world that humanity is not dead.
One such hero is 3-year-old Kabeer.
Kabeer, the little baker, took upon himself to make sure he is helping the society as best as he can. As reported by the Mumbai Mirror, this little boy baked hundreds of cupcakes with the help of his mother and raised money selling these to neighbors & friends. The objective of this entire effort by this young coronawarrior was to contribute to the Mumbai police foundation.
Kabeer’s father Keshav mentioned that they got the idea from a friend based in London. He also said that they did not fix any price for the cupcakes, and left it to the buyers to pay whatever they could.
According to Mumbai Police, Kabeer’s initial target was to raise Rs 10,000. However, the young baker exceeded his target and managed to raise Rs 50,000.
On Tuesday morning, he and his parents Karishma and Keshav handed over a cheque for the amount to Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh. Kabeer also brought along a box of his sweet treats for the cops.
“This sweet flavor is going to stay on our palates forever,” wrote Mumbai Police in a video praising the corona warrior.”
Eventually, the family was able to raise Rs 25,000 by selling cupcakes and decided to add another Rs 25,000 of their own. Keshav mentioned,
“We sold cupcakes worth Rs 25,000 and added the remaining balance from our own pocket and donated it to Mumbai Police Foundation for the good work they are doing in looking after us during the pandemic. Now, we plan to raise it to a lakh.”
As the little one and family handed over the cheque to Mumbai Police, they took to social media to appreciate the little entrepreneur.
