It’s never easy to say the last goodbye to your soulmate – with whom you have imagined your life till eternity.
While many of us can’t even gather the courage to say goodbye to our husbands in our dreams, the young wives of our jawans tell us what true courage looks like.
And one such young wife is Nitika Kaul, wife of Army Major V.S. Dhoundiyal, who sacrificed his life to avenge the Pulwama attack.
He fought like a warrior and didn’t hesitate to give up his life for the nation to ensure that the terrorists pay the price of their cowardly act.
During the final rites ceremony of Major VS Dhoundiyal, which took place in Dehradun on Tuesday, his wife Nitika shared a heartwarming and emotional message for her brave husband. This message will surely leave every Indian teary-eyed.
While bidding her soulmate the last goodbye, Nitika Kaul said:
“I’m really proud. We all love you.”
“The way you love everyone is entirely different because you sacrifice your life for the people who you may have never contacted, but still you decided to lay your life for them.”
“You are such a brave man.”
“I am very honoured to have you as my husband.”
“I’ll love you till my last breath.”
“I owe my life to you.”
“Yes, it’s hurting that you’re leaving but I know you will always be around.”
“And, I request everyone not to sympathise”
“Rather be very strong because this man holds a position larger than any of us standing here.”
Fighting tears, Nitika further added:
“Let’s salute this man. Jai Hind, Jai Hind, Jai Hind”
She blew the final goodbye kiss and said, “I love you, Vibhu” for one last time at the funeral.
You can’t stop fighting the tears when you come to know that this young couple just married less than a year ago.
A Special Farewell:
When you see thousands of people turning up to bid a tearful farewell to someone they have never met, you know he is not a mortal you are bidding goodbye to.
People climbed their rooftops and stood on either side of the road leading to the officer’s residence to witness the dark scene with tears in their eyes. They just wanted to have a glance of this martyr, who avenged the Pulwama Attack for India.
The mortal remains were brought home in a coffin wrapped in the national flag late on Monday night.
You could feel the pain and pride as the chants of “Shaheed Dhoundiyal Amar Rahein” and “Vande Mataram” echoing in the air.
It was one of the rare moment when these words relived themselves –
“Aye Mere Vatan Ke Logon, Tum Khub Laga Lo Naara
Yeh Shubh Din Hai Ham Sab Kaa, Lahara Lo Tiranga Pyaara
Par Mat Bhulo Sima Paar, Viron Ne Hai Praan Ganvaaye
Kuchh Yaad Unhe Bhee Kar Lo – (2)
Jo Laut Ke Ghar Naa Aaye – (2)Aye Mere Vatan Ke Logon, Jara Aankh Me Bhar Lo Paanee
Jo Shahid Huye Hain Unakee, Jara Yaad Karo Kurbaanee”
