Jasprit Bumrah’s single mother Daljit shares early day struggles in an emotional video, and proves how strong mothers raise strong kids!
Breaking all myths and stereotypes, Jasprit Bumrah has emerged as India’s No. 1 bowler across all formats. Jasprit started his career when he was a teenager and with determination and hard work, he is now one of the best bowlers in the ICC rankings in the ODI format.
But Bumrah’s journey has been anything but easy. He lost his father at a young age and was raised by a single mom Daljit. Daljit recalled their early days of struggle in an emotional video.
Mumbai Indians posted a video on their Twitter handle that captures the tough struggle that Jasprit Bumrah and his mother have gone through to make their dream a reality.
In the video, you can see Jasprit’s mother recalling the early struggle and how she lost her husband very early:
“When he (Jasprit) was only five years old, I lost my husband.”
Recalling the initial financial struggle, Bumrah further added:
“After that, we couldn’t afford anything. I had only one pair of shoes and used to have just a pair of T-shirts. I used to wash them every day, and use it again and again. So, as a child you hear stories that sometimes these things happen and that some people come and watch you, and you get picked up like this. But it actually happened in my case,”
Talking about the most memorable moment that made her as the proudest mother, she shared:
“The first time when I saw him on that IPL match on television, I couldn’t stop crying. He has seen me struggle financially and physically also,”
Here’s the complete video that would make you emotional yet inspire you to reach for your dreams:
“Talent can come from anywhere and reach the pinnacle of success.”
