In the midst of our battle against Coronavirus, several schools and universities in India have launched their study programs online so that our kids can continue their studies amid lockdown.
But with the lack of infrastructure, many kids are struggling to study online. While few struggle with the availability of the internet or computers, the others have issues with the slow or average internet speed.
Though some of us would have taken it as an excuse to bunk classes, this Kerala girl is breaking the internet as she sat at the roof of her house to attend online classes. Have a look.
This inspiring girl, Namitha Narayanan, is a 5th semester BA English student from Kottakkal, Kerala. She was so engrossed in her online classes, that she hardly cared about the opinion of people around her.
As per The Hindu, Namitha couldn’t find any place in her house where she could find a fairly good signal, except on the roof. So she decided to make it her study space.
She sat there for hours with the umbrella to shield herself from rain and sun. She has apparently broken a few tiles but has full support from her parents. In fact, they got her an iron ladder to climb atop, daily.
They have also approached several data operators for improved connectivity but in vain.
At IFORHER, we are in awe of this girl’s determination to finish her studies. We hope our authorities would take action to ensure that our kids have the right infrastructure available for their studies.
