A few days back we covered how Kanika Kapoor, a celebrity, put the lives of many at risk as she hid her travel history. But today, we bring to you a story of a celebrity, who has shown what it takes to be a hero in real life.
During these testing times, doctors and nurses around the world are working round the clock to fight COVID-19. For the sake of their duties and responsibility, they are putting their lives at risk.
After all, our heroic doctors and nurses abide by the oath to help and serve people all their life. And, hence, it wasn’t a surprise when many doctors around the world came out from their retirement to help coronavirus patients.
The same thing encouraged Bollywood actress Shikha Malhotra to join the hospital during the coronavirus outbreak. Shikha has been seen sharing the screen with notable actor Sanjay Mishra in critically acclaimed Kaanchli.
As per TOI, Shikha completed her nursing course back in 2014 from Delhi’s Vardhman Mahavir Medical College in Safdarjung Hospital. But destiny had different plans for Shikha. She pursued acting as her career and never became a practicing nurse.
In the times of a national health emergency, Shikha ensured that she put her nursing skills into use to save the human race. She has joined the Hindu Hriday Samrat Bala Saheb Thackeray hospital to help coronavirus infected patients.
As per the Instagram post, she said:
“After passing the course in college, we had taken the oath to serve society. I think this is the time to do so,”
On her Instagram account, Shikha also confirmed that she is a registered nurse. She also posted pictures of practicing her duty in the isolation center. Have a look:
Additionally, she shared a video urging people to stay indoors during the lockdown and be thankful to the medics, who are working in the time of health crisis.
At IFORHER, we admire Shikha. Our country definitely needs heroes like her right now.
We are so proud of you, nurse Shikha!
