We are living in unprecedented times. Lakhs of families are struggling with a lot of pain and devastation. People are losing their loved ones due to COVID. The shortage of oxygen has left many families helpless and even cremation grounds are unable to handle the bodies of those who lost their battle to COVID. Sadly, the situation is really sad and disappointing. With every passing moment, we are losing hope.
However, in midst of so much gloom, there are glimpses of hope that may give you a reason to believe that things will get better. Recently, a photograph of a 75-year-old woman hugging her PPE and masks-clad doctor is that glimpse of hope.
The photograph from Kolkata of a woman hugging her doctor after she recovers from COVID-19 is going viral on social media. The picture shows that the woman has tears in her eyes. She is speechless for the efforts of her doctor who ensured that she recovered from the deadly virus.
This heart-touching photo was shared by a journalist named Pooja Mehta on Twitter with the caption, “Can’t thank these ‘Gods’ in hospitals enough”. The doctor was identified as Dr. Abhishikta Mullick who works at the city’s medical college and hospital.

These are small moments people live for. Sustained adversity brings the best of humanity. Unfortunately, same brings the worst out of animals.

Very rare to see humanity pouring from both ends..1 from the dr who work selflesssly and the other who showers gratitude which many of us forget…… HUMANITY IS SUPREME.

It is quite inspiring how healthcare workers are selflessly working since the pandemic attacked the world in 2020. It’s been more than a year and they are still continuing to do so. They are striving hard to save lives during the second wave, which is unbelievably worse than the first one. That too with a shortage of all medical facilities like hospital beds, oxygen cylinders, ventilators, medicines, etc.
At IFORHER, we want to thank every doctor and health worker who is working selflessly to save Covid affected patients. Not all heroes wear capes, some have stethoscopes around their necks and wear scrubs.
