Fighting for your dreams is never easy. But, if you are supported by the right people, it makes a lot of difference in how far you can go in life. One such inspiring story about fighting for dreams is of Madhu Priya. Madhu Priya, daughter of vegetable vendors, shared how her parents supported her to become the first girl in their family to pursue higher studies. While sharing her story, she mentioned,
“My parents are vegetable vendors and I come from a middle-class family. I am a first-generation learner, first girl child in the family to have done a Master’s degree, first girl to get campus placed in an Indian MNC, first working mother in the family, and the first to get a PROMOTION. From Sr. HR Associate to Associate Manager!”
She adds,
“During school, my mother always came last for Parent-Teacher meetings. I was furious with her. Little did I know why. When I graduated from school, my mom said that she always came last so as to not embarrass me in front of my classmates for being a vegetable vendor’s daughter (my classmates’ parents were mostly celebrities, businessmen, or some big shots!). I felt terrible for not understanding her and not having the chance to show my friends how proud I am of her.”

She also said,
“So, here I am, taking this opportunity to show the world that I am a PROUD VEGETABLE VENDOR’S daughter who defied all odds and thrived her way to today. Thanks to my mom for her constant support and encouragement that I am far better from where my neighbors thought I would be. This is my first Promotion and I dedicate this to my Mother.”
Many netizens came forward to congratulate them on her win and applauded her dedication:
At IFOHER, we are in awe of Madhu Priya and her inspiring post. We wish her luck for future endeavors and hope her inspiring story will give courage to many more to fight for their dreams.
