As we are nearing International Women’s Day, we are seeing women being celebrated in social media, corporate offices, and in some families. But, we want to ask if all this is just a sham or are Indian women really safe and happy in their own country?
In reality, being a woman in India is not easy. Our society is not only unsafe for women and girls, but it also leaves no chance to oppress & harass them. In a country where we hear news of rapes on a daily basis, it is hard to imagine if we are living in the 21st century or the dark ages. Our society leaves no chance to blame women – whether it is rape victims being blamed for their clothing, or brides blamed for breaking the house, even pregnant-women blamed for carrying a girl-child.
This Women’s Day, we want to share how our society’s unfair treatment makes Indian women feel a burden to be female!
We hope our society would learn and help us achieve a safer and better country for women. A country where our daughters feel safe, and there is no discrimination basis the gender of a person.
Happy Women’s Day!
