Noor Jaleela, a 17-year-old artist, is an inspiring story for everyone who has been struggling hard with difficult life circumstances.
Born without forearms and legs, Noor never let her circumstances dictate her quality of life. Here’s her inspiring story to give you a ray of hope and strength to fight back!
Noor a multi-talented 17-year-old not only plays the violin but also paints and sings. She is also a motivational speaker who has dedicated her life to inspire the ones, who are being judged by this society because of their deformities.
When you look at how she excels at various talents, you may almost forget to notice that she was born with a deformity.
Sadly, Noor doesn’t have limbs below her knees and elbows. Even after being born without hands and legs, Noor managed to show the world that dreams know no excuse.
Her relentless power to pursue her dreams and hobbies never gave life a chance to pull her courageous soul down.
According to reports, her family discovered her hidden talents accidentally. It was when Jaleela mistook her sister’s record book for a coloring book. But once her parents came to know about her hidden talents, they made sure they encourage Jaleela to create her own destiny.
Without wasting any more time her parents got her art supplies and she has been painting since then.
She has also showcased some of her paintings in art exhibitions.
And when she was in class VII, she picked up the violin. It wasn’t easy for her to build a grip because of deformity, but she didn’t give up.
She’d play it like a cello by holding it downwards and would tie a hairband to the bow to ensure the grip.
Recently, she shared the stage with KS Chitra, one of Kerala’s most renowned playback singers.
But what is even more inspiring about her is the dedication with which she is working for an NGO – Dream With Us, that works for the welfare of children with disability.
Noor is working relentlessly to make sure that society accepts children with disability and gives them a chance to live with dignity.
We can’t forget the unconditional support that Jaleela received from her family in her inspiring journey so far. According to her, the parents accepted her with open arms when the doctors were hesitant to break the news to them.
At I FOR HER, we are not only in awe of this girl but also her parents who, not bothered by society’s judgemental stares, gave Noor the best set of opportunities to build her life.
With a dream to visit NASA and to climb Mount Everest, we hope Noor will keep inspiring many parents and kids, who struggle with deformities to live a happy, healthy and hopeful life.
