The time when you find yourself losing confidence, remember the inspiring story of Sangeeta Mall who fought against tough times so bravely that tough times also gave up!
After her husband, Shishir Mall , sacrificed his life while fighting against terrorists in J&K, life took a downward turn for Sangeeta. At every step, life gave her a hundred reasons to fall down but she gave herself thousands of reasons to fight back. Like a true hero, her struggles may have been endless but so is her strength and courage.
The moment that left her heartbroken and hopeless
Sangeeta worked as a teacher before marrying Shishir in 2013, who was part of Gorkha Rifles. He was serving in J&K when he was killed by terrorists in September 2015.
Sangeeta never thought that destiny had such an ugly plan of separating Shishir and her so soon.
After Shishir’s untimely death, Sangeeta was not only heartbroken but also hopeless. Sangeeta was overtaken by depression after hearing the news of her husband’s death.
But, that was not the end of her misery.
As per TOI, Sangeeta, who was struggling emotionally and mentally, also suffered a miscarriage.
Life stayed bleak for a long time until her family stepped up to help her.
While recounting her trauma, Sushant Mall, Sangeeta’s brother-in-law shared with TOI: “My mother supported her and encouraged her to study further and do a banking job.”
And, that was the point which finally pushed Sangeeta to come out of her shell. She finally appeared for competitive exams and was selected for service in a bank.
But, life had different plans for Sangeeta – the plans that turned her into a NATIONAL HERO!
As per Zee News reports,
“During that time, Sangeeta – who lived in Dehradun – received a call to attend an event at Central Command in Ranikhet. There, Mall’s former colleagues and friends encouraged her to join the defence forces and guided her to become a part of Officer’s Training Academy (OTA).”
Without wasting any time, she contacted the Veer Nari Committee and started preparing for her admission to OTA. She cleared the examination. And, after the rigorous training, she has been finally commissioned into the army as a Lieutenant.
