In our commitment to celebrating the great achievements of inspiring women, here we are sharing once such a story of determination and persistence. Navalben Dalsangbhai Chaudhary, a 62-year-old woman from Gujarat has recently achieved a milestone, that many believed, wasn’t possible.
Defying all the odds, Navalben, who hails from the village of Nagana in the district of Banaskantha, started a mini-revolution in her district. As per the reports, Navalben made a record by selling milk worth Rs 1.10 crore in 2020 and earning a profit of Rs 3.50 lakh per month. In 2019, she sold Rs 87.95 lakh worth of milk.
At age of 61, Navalben started a milk company out of her home. After a year, she has got over 80 buffaloes and 45 cows that cater to the milk needs of people in several villages. Currently, Navalben has fifteen employees working at her dairy.
In her interview, the 62-year-old mentioned how she has four sons but they earn much less than her.
“I have four sons who are studying and working in cities. I run a dairy of 80 buffaloes and 45 cows. In 2019, I sold milk worth Rs 87.95 lakh and was the first in the Banaskantha district in this case. I am also number one by selling milk worth Rs 1 crore 10 lakh in 2020,” she said.
In the list, Navalben was featured as she earned Rs 87 Lakhs by selling 2.21 kilograms of milk that year. She earned the highest among all the 10 women. Because of her inspiring achievements in the field of dairy farming, Navalben has already received two Lakshmi Awards and three Best Pashupalak Awards.
At an age, when many plan to retire, Navalben has started a successful business. She is not only independent but also helping her employees to do so. At IFORHER, we are so proud of Navalben and hope many more would seek inspiration from this brave soul!
