As the whole country is under lockdown to contain the Coronavirus, there are many who are putting this self-isolation time in good use. While some are indulging in spending more family time, some are learning new hobbies.
In the midst of self-isolation, Janhvi Kapoor recently shared a heartwarming post that left us teary-eyed.
While talking about the things she has learned during self-isolation, Janhvi mentioned realizing the value of food:
“It’s a blessing to have things in excess and abundance the way that I do. But not knowing if our house ration will last long enough till lockdown ends, knowing someone’s risking their health every time they go to buy groceries – makes me worry in a way I’ve never had to before.”
Janhvi also shared that she realized how much she relied on other people for health, vanity, and entertainment.
“I took for granted the fact that I could travel, by foot, in a car or on a plane. All of these things are luxuries. That became life. That then became necessities.”
But what left us emotional was when she realized how her family has changed after Sridevi’s demise:
“I’ve learnt that I can still smell my mother in her dressing room. I’ve learnt that my father misses me. Before lockdown, whenever he was home, he would wait for Khushi and me to come back from work or from meetings or from our friend’s houses to spend time with us. I would never see him wait. But when I wake up now and go across the hall and see him alone on the sofa smiling because he has us to himself the whole day, I can picture him sitting in the same place waiting alone for us to come home.”
At IFORHER, we felt this post is a great reminder about gratitude, patience, and acceptance. We hope like Jhanvi, many of us utilize this self-isolation in making ourselves better, happier and healthier.
