We live in a world where people are ready to do anything for popularity and followers on social media. A couple of days ago, a little girl, a social media influencer, went viral for mimicking Alia Bhatt’s dialogues from her upcoming movie ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi‘. In the video, the girl is seen dressed in white, completing her look with a face tattoo and a bindi, just like Alia’s character in the film.
Though some lauded her acting skills, calling her ‘Choti Alia’, many felt that a child mimicking a sex-worker character was inappropriate. Even Filmfare shared the video on its handle, that was later dropped after facing the flak online.
Thanks friends, for supporting g this cause. It’s deleted but I am sure they will do something pathetic like this again. pic.twitter.com/H3c0DaL3KZ

Are you out of your bloody mind, @filmfare? You are enjoying a little child recreate a real life madame who was sexually assaulted by mafia dons and forced into prostitution. Sorry but I think @KanoongoPriyank should have a look. This is sick. WDTT https://t.co/L07ujN2v4t

I’d urge @filmfare to be a little sensitive to what you’ll are exposing children to and the kind of audience you’ll cater to by using young kids. Parents, I hope you’ll rethink how and what your children are used for. 🙏🏼

Happy to know that #Filmfare has finally removed this tweet. There can be no compromise with the future and proper upbringing of our kids. https://t.co/HRuUn4RcBq pic.twitter.com/bNuG8HE2d3

Shame on @filmfare and the parents as well who allowed this. You are literally using child to promote the film of #Gangubai who was harassed by Mafia dons n they made her prostitute. This is what you want child to learn.

Among the people criticizing the video is Kangana Ranaut, who also raised concern and asked “Is it ok to sexualize her at this age?”
While taking to her Instagram, Kangana wrote:
“Government should take action against all the parents who are sexualizing underage children for money to promote biopic of a famous prostitute and pimp who supplied girls to former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and rose to power…request @SMRITIIRANIOFFICIALJI Minister of Women and Child development, please look into it.”
Slamming parents for using their kids for gaining popularity, Kangana wrote:
“Should this child imitate a sex worker with a beedi in her mouth and mouth crude and obscene dialogues? Look at her body language, is it okay to sexualize her at this age? There are hundreds of other children who are being used similarly @smritiiraniofficial.”
Do you second Kangana’s views?
