Shah Rukh Khan, the King of Bollywood, is known for his undeniable charisma and charm that captivates audiences worldwide. With his infectious energy and magnetic presence, he has become one of the most beloved and iconic actors in the industry. Fans adore him not only for his incredible talent but also for his humility and genuine connection with people.
While there are many instances when SRK’s humility touched our hearts, there is this one unforgettable encounter that stood out from the rest. In 2007, KBC 3 featured Shah Rukh Khan taking the host’s seat in Big B’s absence.
During the show, SRK started a new trend of hugging the participant as they left the stage. However, a woman boldly expressed her dislike for Shah Rukh Khan as an actor and refused to accept a hug from him. Recently, a clip of the scene has again resurfaced on Reddit with people talking about the same.
In the clip, the middle-aged lady tells Shah Rukh Khan, “Main aapki filmein dekhti hu aur main aapko ajha actor nahi mana karti. Aur mujhe is show mein aapse gale milne ka koi shauk nahi hai (I watch your films but I don’t consider you a good actor. I am also not willing to hug you on the show).”
After that woman’s sequence concluded and she won certain prize money, Khan asked her, “aap bura manegi agar main apni taraf se ye check aapki ma ji ko dekar aau kyunki wo mujhse gale zarur milengi (will you feel bad if I give this check to your mom because she will definitely give me a hug)?” Interestingly, the other woman gave a big nod and SRK walked off to hug her mom.
I think I’ve never seen host tackling a rude contestant like this. SRK as they say is incredibly adept with words and attitude. 😅😅

Reacting to the video, many netizens lauded SRK’s charm and patience to have not insulted that lady back.
A user wrote, “Lol for I am not a fan either but that doesn’t mean that I would be rude. Just because he’s famous people think he wouldn’t feel offended or hurt if someone says this directly. And there’s no way this is scripted because who would write a script like that???”
“This woman was just awful!! Bhoi hota toha permanently ye mauhtarma footpath nahi use kartin. SRK definitely has the patience of an elephant. Koi saamne aadmi hota toh SRK ka Delhi ka launda ek minute mein bahar aata.”
Some users came forward to support the lady. Netizen wrote, “Not all women are dying to hug celebrities. She was setting boundaries and it’s healthy for your own mental peace.” Another user wrote, “I agree. She seemed around my mother’s age and I know women that age are not comfortable being hugged by a man. Nothing wrong with enforcing personal boundaries.”
