The 68th Filmfare Awards ceremony was held to honor the best of Indian cinema from the year 2022. The prestigious event saw some of the biggest names in the industry walk the red carpet and celebrate the art of filmmaking. The night was full of surprises and memorable moments, as the jury members announced the winners in various categories. From Alia Bhatt winning Best Actress to Rajkumar Rao winning Best Actor to SLB’s Gangubai bagging the Best Film, Filmfare awards celebrated the industry’s excellence.Â
Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s film “Gangubai Kathiawadi” and Harshavardhan Kulkarni’s “Badhaai Do” emerged as big winners at the 68th Filmfare Awards 2023. “Gangubai Kathiawadi” swept the night with a total of 10 awards, including the coveted Best Film, Best Director for Bhansali, and Best Actress for Alia Bhatt. Rajkummar Rao won the Best Actor Award for his role in “Badhaai Do,” while Tabu and Bhumi Pednekar shared the award for Best Actress (Critics) for their performances in “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2” and “Badhaai Do,” respectively.
In the critics’ category, Sanjay Mishra won Best Actor for his role in “Vadh.” The legendary actor Prem Chopra was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the Best Debut (Male) and Best Debut (Female) awards went to Ankush Gedam and Andrea Kevichusa for their performances in “Jhund” and “Anek,” respectively.
