Lights, camera, flop! In the unpredictable world of Bollywood, some movies crash and burn at the box office despite their star-studded casts. What’s even more baffling? It is quite shocking how some Bollywood actors were paid through the roof while the movie failed miserably at the box office.
Join us as we uncover Bollywood actors who walked away with mega paychecks for movies that bombed miserably at the box office, leaving us scratching our heads and questioning Bollywood’s logic!
Akshay Kumar (Bade Miyan Chotte Miyan)
In just eight days, the Ali Abbas Zafar directorial managed to make only Rs 49.80 crore in India according to Sacnilk. Trade analysts are expecting the film to fold around Rs 75 crore at the Indian box office by the end of its lifetime run. This collection becomes more disappointing when you realize how much Akshay Kumar was paid for the movie! According to a report in Film Companion, Akshay Kumar’s fee for Bade Miyan Chote Miyan was a staggering Rs 165 crore. It means the movie earned less than half of the insane fee Akshay Kumar was paid for the film.
Tiger Shroff (Bade Miyan Chotte Miyan)
Tiger Shroff, another action hero known for his martial arts and dance, reportedly bagged between Rs 40 and Rs 45 crore for stepping into the shoes of Chote Miyan. However, the movie has only earned 50 crores so far and is heading towards becoming one of the biggest disasters of 2024.
Kangana Ranaut (Dhaakad, Tejas)

Hrithik Roshan (Vikram Vedha)
Vikram Vedha, released in theatres in 2022, marked Hrithik Roshan’s grand comeback on the silver screen. The 48-year-old actor reportedly charged a whopping amount of Rs 50 crore for his part in the film. While Hrithik earned 50 Crores, the movie collected only ₹78.66 crore in India and ₹135.03 crore worldwide.
Prabhas (Adipurush)
As per Bollywood Hungama, the movie earned 179.6 Cr worldwide and as per Times Now, Prabhas was paid around Rs 150 Crore for essaying the role of Raghava, Lord Rama, in the film. What’s the logic?
