Yami Gautam On Socializing At Larger Than-Life Bollywood Parties
Following her spectacular run on TV shows, Yami Gautam managed to appear in many Hindi films. Despite being a Bollywood star, Yami has always maintained a quiet profile. Recently, she admitted that she does not enjoy socializing at parties and, has been constantly told to” promote” herself more.
While sharing how she did not enjoy Bollywood parties and struggled to promote herself, Yami Gautam told the Indian Express, “Why do you have to tell people you are a good actor? But for the longest time, I was told to network, and socialize. This isn’t bad, but there are people like me who aren’t comfortable. Why should I go to a party to make a conversation just to get to work? If you like it, go ahead — I am not judging.”
Yami’s interview made many remember Sushant Singh Rajput, who was also not fond of attending parties. Earlier, Sushant Singh Rajput also mentioned that he was unable to make friends or socialize at parties as people didn’t find his conversation interesting.
But not just failing at socializing at parties, Yami Gautam has one more similarity with Sushant Singh Rajput. In an interview, Yami admitted that she intended to give up acting and pursue a career in farming just like Sushant Singh Rajput.

Yami Gautam On Wanting To Quit Bollywood & Start Farming Like Sushant Singh
While talking with Ranveer Allahabadia, Yami talked about her acting career and her unheard struggle in Bollywood. As per Indian Express, she said, “This city tests you and breaks you. There was this time in my life — I have a piece of land in Himachal Pradesh, and I thought that I would take up farming if this film does not work.”
During the interview, Yami Gautam shared it was during 2018 – 2019 that she had this idea of quitting Bollywood to start farming. This was the time when she was struggling with several career lows after tasting success with her movie Vicky Donor, in which she starred opposite Ayushmann Khurrana.
She further added in her interview, “I told my mother if this film does not work, I would just come back. I am happy with acting and roles, but the process tests you — the people, the process, and the unspoken culture, and notions.”
But Yami Gautam wasn’t the only one – who wanted to quit Bollywood and start pursuing farming. Some time back, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father also shared Sushant’s intent to leave Bollywood and start an organic farm with one of his close pals. He mentioned it in his police complaint against Rhea Chakraborty after the actor passed away.
As per sources, he mentioned: “At one point in time, my son decided to give up films, settle down in Coorg and pursue farming along with Mahesh Shetty. My son was blackmailed by Rhea Chakraborty who threatened him that she’d make his medical history public and let the world know that he was mentally unstable, putting his career in jeopardy ”
