Maidaan is a brilliant and truly inspiring sports biopic, a real masterpiece that’s come out of Bollywood after a long time. In case you love content-driven good movies, then you can’t miss watching this masterpiece. Here are five things we absolutely loved about Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan as we watched it on Prime recently:
1. Ajay Devgn’s Performance
Ajay Devgn absolutely nails it. He carries a grim, warrior-like persona throughout the movie but never looks tired or out of place. His expressive eyes and commanding presence add so much depth to his character, Syed Abdul Rahim. Honestly, this might be one of his best performances ever, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he gets a national award for it.
2. Outstanding Cast Performances
While Ajay Devgn is amazing, the supporting cast is just as good. The young actors playing the team members give such natural and heartfelt performances, making us root for their journeys on and off the field. Priyamani is excellent in her role, and Gajraj Rao, as the bad journalist Roy Choudhury, really stands out.
3. AR Rahman’s Music
The music and soundtrack by AR Rahman are just phenomenal. The songs, especially “Team India,” “Ranga Ranga,” and “Mirza,” are beautifully composed and really add to the emotional punch of the film. The music makes every scene feel more intense and heart-pounding.
4. Inspiring Storytelling and Character Development
The storytelling is truly inspiring and grabs us right from the start. The character development is done so well, introducing each character in a way that’s engaging and often humorous. The balance between the narrative and the comic elements is perfect, making the story even more enjoyable.
5. Game Choreography & Great VFX
The football match scenes are incredible. The VFX and visuals are so realistic, it’s like we’re watching an actual game. The way the matches are choreographed is just marvellous, capturing all the intensity and excitement of football.
Maidaan is a technically brilliant and outstanding movie that deserves a lot more recognition and support. It’s got a compelling story, superb performances, and a fantastic soundtrack, making it a must-watch for anyone who loves good cinema.
