In the recent release of Adipurush, a highly anticipated movie with a staggering budget of 500 Crores, audiences were left disappointed and disheartened. The film failed to meet the high expectations set by its grand scale and the legendary story of Ramayana, leading to a growing demand for a boycott of Adipurush among the audience. The movie has faced massive criticism for its poor VFX, weak dialogues, incorrect portrayal, and misrepresentation of facts.
Amidst this widespread criticism, writer Manoj Muntashir’s recent statement on the film has sparked an uproar once again. In an interview with AajTak, the renowned songwriter behind popular songs like “Teri Mitti” from Kesari and “Kaun Tujhe” from MS Dhoni: The Untold Story made a controversial remark.
He said, “Bajrangbali bhagwan nahi hain bhakt hain”.
This statement quickly went viral and enraged netizens, who now demand news channels to ban him from giving any further interviews. During the interview with Aaj Tak, he said, “Vo shree Ram ki tarah baat nahi karte. Bajrangbali darshnik batein nahi karte. Bajrangbali bhagwan nahi hain bhakt hain. Humne unhe bhagwan banaya baad mein kyuki unki bhakti mein vo power tha,”He was talking about the dialogues like “Kapda tere baap ka. Tel tere baap ka. Aag bhi tere baap ki. Toh jalegi bhi tere baap ki” in Adipurush.
His controversial comment about Lord Hanuman has triggered a furor, with people expressing their anger and disappointment. The backlash includes calls for an apology and even suggestions of banning him from news channels to prevent further damage to sentiments.

“Why can’t they just apologize and move on!”” Can we ban him for good, by going to the news channels he is damaging the sentiments more”. “Mr. Manoj seems to be an immature kid to me, he’s trying hard to convince the larger lot who are older and much more mature than him. This would prove fatal and ensure an end to his career at Bollywood!”, wrote users.
