Here is a piece of good news the OMG 2 creators have just revealed an incredibly exciting update. “OMG 2,” which stars Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi in the lead roles, is all set to make its debut on an online streaming platform, and the best part is that it’s going to be the original version of the movie!
This revelation is like the cherry on top of a cake that has seen its fair share of ups and downs. Before reaching this point, the movie had to face some challenges and controversies. You see, there was a bit of a clash between the makers and the Censor Board. They had certain concerns, and as a result, the movie had to undergo 27 different edits and changes. Plus, they gave it a rating that meant only adults could watch it.
Despite all these challenges, the movie managed to come through and be released in theaters. Akshay Kumar, one of the main actors in the film, even made things lighter by making a joke. He said, “The funny thing is that this is the first adult film which is made for teenagers”
But wait, there’s more! The movie didn’t just survive the challenges but also faced some tough competition from other movies that were being released around the same time. It’s like the movie world had a big party with lots of guests, and “OMG 2” had to make its presence felt among all the excitement, especially when there was a lot of buzz about other movies like “Gadar 2” and the return of Sunny Deol.
Behind the scenes, the director of “OMG 2,” Amit Rai, wasn’t completely happy. He felt a bit disappointed about the CBFC’s decision to give the movie a rating for adults and also make so many changes.

And now, after a successful journey where the movie earned more than Rs 100 crore in India, the director has decided to release the movie online in its true, original form. This means that all the parts that were cut and changed before won’t be touched this time.
Talking about the whole issue with the CBFC, Amit Rai said, “We were heartbroken because we made the film for everyone to watch, now that cannot happen. We begged them to give us a U/A certificate (children below 12 years of age can watch a film under parental guidance) but they didn’t. We tried to convince them till the very end… But then they walked some distance, we walked some distance. The film has been released with modifications…”
When the movie did well, Amit Rai felt really happy. He said, “We are happy people have loved the film. The intent of the film was pure. Nobody wanted to titillate the audience, hence they liked it. We have dealt with it (the story) in a way that doesn’t sound vulgar. We talk about the reality but in a sweet and humorous way.”
And guess what’s next? The movie is going to be available on an online streaming platform for all of us to watch. The director mentioned, “We have decided that we will show the original film (on streaming), a film that the censor never wanted people to see, but… The public has seen the film and given their verdict. If the censor board doesn’t understand it, what do we say?”

We don’t know the exact date when the movie will be available online, but it’s expected to be around late September or early October. As per many reports, the movie will be released on JioCinema. We are still waiting for the official announcement. So get ready for “OMG 2” to shine online, showing us that even when things get tough, movies can still make their way to our screens – just the way they were meant to be!
