In a recent development, a news channel has announced a conclave featuring Kiara Advani, where she is set to discuss “the struggles of an outsider in the glamour world.” Titled “The Outsider’s Uphill Battle,” the event clearly positions Kiara as someone with no familial connections to the Hindi film industry.
However, the announcement sparked controversy as netizens accused Kiara of misrepresenting her ties to Bollywood. One user resurfaced an old tweet from 2014 by actress Juhi Chawla, where she referred to Kiara as her niece while promoting her debut film “Fugly.”
After Juhi Chawla old tweet went viral, many netizens trolled Kiara Advani for lying about being an outsider. Here are some of the reactions
Sobo girl, niece of juhi chawla, connection with Karan Johar prior to getting launched in Bollywood. Yaa we call that as an outsider

The biggest con Kiara pulled was to convince Indians she is not a product of nepotism

Dude I understand she worked hard a lot after entering the industry but to enter in this industry she struggled i don’t agree cause I have heard somewhere that she’s the relative granddaughter of actor Ashok Kumar and now this juhi chawla so how come she’s an outsider?

In an earlier interview, Kiara spoke about her connection with legendary Ashok Kumar and veteran actor Saeed Jaffrey. She shared, “Basically, my grandfather got married and my nani–who he got remarried to, is the daughter of Ashok Kumar. So by marriage, I am related to Ashok Kumar. My grandfather’s brother is Saeed Jaffrey. But the sad part is, I have never met either of them. I got to know more about them, once I started telling my parents that I wanted to get into films.”
She continued, “My parents are childhood friends with a couple of actors, I had never even met… except for Juhi aunty (Juhi Chawla), who is my father’s childhood friend. She was the only person I met. She is very grounded. I never felt that she was a huge film star, and she was just like my parent’s friends. We would meet at birthday parties. I would be dancing and choreographing dances with her kids. I was one of those kids. All of them would be my backup dancers. That would be the extent of the filminess.”
