Everyone was hoping that Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha will end Bollywood’s bad phase of flop movies. But, sadly, it seems that Bollywood has to wait for some more time before it reaps success at the Box-office.
Many people were left shocked and disappointed when Aamir Khan’s much-hyped movie Laal Singh Chaddha took a low start at the box—office. And, when the movie faced a further dip in collections on day 2, Bollywood’s hopes to see a hit shattered.
The movie faced a drop in collection in multiplexes while the business in mass circuits is quite disappointing. On day 1, the film faced a low collection of only Rs 11.70 crore & on day 2, the movie collections further dropped to only Rs 7.26 crore.
Sharing the box office collection of the film, trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, “#LaalSinghChaddha falls flat on Day 2… Drop at national chains… Mass pockets face steep fall… 2-day total is alarmingly low for an event film… Extremely crucial to score from Sat-Mon… Thu 11.70 cr, Fri 7.26 cr. But, what hit Bollywood the most this week was not only one dismal movie performance but two. Not only Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha performed miserably at BO but also Akshay Kumar starrer Raksha Bandhan. The movie already opened to a single digit figure of Rs. 8.20 Crore and faced a drop on the second day and collected Rs 6.40 Crore at BO.

Though the difference in the total collections between the two films is now barely Rs 4 crore, the fact is that neither of the movies is doing well at the domestic box office.
Though the Forrest Gump remake, Laal Singh Chaddha is struggling hard at the Indian box office, surprisingly, it has broken into the top 10 charts at the US Box Office. Yes, you read it right.
As per Box Office Mojo, Laal Singh Chaddha collected $314.8k on day one in the US. The movie achieved 10th spot on the US Box Office list. The movie, in fact, performed way better than the average per screen amongst other films on the list.
