What Is Lust Stories 3 About?
Like the first two editions, Lust Stories 3 will tell several standalone stories instead of following a single set of characters. The four films will explore different sides of modern relationships, including attraction, intimacy, vulnerability, emotional distance and desires that are often left unspoken.
While detailed plots of the individual stories have largely been kept under wraps, Netflix has revealed that the new chapter will look at love, lust, relationships and repressed desire through four very different cinematic perspectives.
That format should once again allow the franchise to move beyond conventional romance and examine the messier realities of human connection, with each filmmaker creating a completely different emotional world.
Lust Stories 3 Directors: Who Is Directing The Four Stories?
One of the biggest reasons Lust Stories 3 is generating attention is its impressive lineup of directors.
Vikramaditya Motwane, known for movies such as Udaan and Lootera, is directing one of the four segments. Kiran Rao, who directed the acclaimed Laapataa Ladies, is also joining the franchise for the first time.
Shakun Batra, whose previous films include Kapoor & Sons and Gehraiyaan, will bring his take on complicated relationships to another story, while Vishal Bhardwaj, the filmmaker behind movies such as Maqbool, Omkara and Haider, completes the four-director lineup.

Lust Stories 3 Continues Netflix’s Popular Anthology Franchise
The original Lust Stories premiered on Netflix in 2018 and featured four segments directed by Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar, Dibakar Banerjee and Karan Johar. Its ensemble included actors such as Radhika Apte, Bhumi Pednekar, Manisha Koirala, Vicky Kaushal and Kiara Advani.
Lust Stories 2 followed in 2023 with stories directed by R Balki, Konkona Sen Sharma, Sujoy Ghosh and Amit Ravindernath Sharma. The second instalment featured Kajol, Neena Gupta, Tamannaah Bhatia, Vijay Varma, Mrunal Thakur, Tillotama Shome, Angad Bedi and Amruta Subhash, among others. The upcoming third chapter once again refreshes the franchise with an entirely different group of filmmakers and a new ensemble cast.
