Initially, Hum Aapke Hain Koun wasn’t well-received by anyone.
This musical movie had a lot of songs – 14 in total! But when it first came out, people thought it was too long. So, they decided to remove two songs, “Chocolate Lime Juice” and “Mujhse Juda Hokar.” Even though some folks didn’t like it at first, the movie ended up being a big hit. Some of the best parts include the fun moments between the main characters and the famous “Didi Tera Devar Deewana” song, along with the wedding scenes.

Do you know the movie started gaining popularity after four days?
The movie was made with a budget of Rs 6 crores, but in the first weekend, it only made Rs 29 lakhs. Critics thought it would be a flop. Surprisingly, after four days, people started talking about it, and it ended up earning Rs 100 crores in India alone. They even added back the two songs they had initially removed because the audience liked them. It went on to break Disco Dancer’s record and became the highest-grossing Indian film globally.
Did you know that Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! wasn’t an original movie but actually a remake?
Hum Aapke Hain Koun..! is not an original movie; it’s a redo of Rajshri Studios’ Nadiya Ke Paar (1982). The original starred Sachin, Sadhana Singh, Inder Thakur, and Mitali and was based on Keshav Prasad Mishra’s Hindi novel Kohbar Ki Shart.
Also, the famous painter MF Hussain watched the movie 85 times. He really loved Madhuri Dixit, and he made a bunch of paintings featuring her. He even created a movie where Madhuri was the main star.
Featuring Salman Khan, Madhuri Dixit, Renuka Shahane, Anupam Kher, Mohnish Bahl, Alok Nath, and Reema Lagoo, among others, Hum Aapke Hain Koun is now considered a cult classic.
