Post the failure of his highly anticipated film “Laal Singh Chaddha,” Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan is taking a step back from the limelight to focus on himself and his loved ones. The movie, which did not perform well at the box office, received a complete turnaround in response when released on OTT platforms, with the audience showering it with praise. However, Aamir revealed that he is now taking a break from acting and will make a comeback only when he feels emotionally ready.
Aamir Khan walking away from the limelight to focus on his family
In a recent interview, Aamir Khan shared his perspective on why he decided to take this hiatus. He expressed how deeply involved he becomes in his film projects, often to the point where nothing else matters in his life.
In his interview, he told the news agency ANI in November last year, “When I am doing a film as an actor, I get so lost in that that nothing else happens in my life. I was supposed to do a film after Laal Singh Chaddha called Champions. It’s a wonderful script, a beautiful story, and it’s a very heartwarming and lovely film. But I feel that I want to take a break, be with my family, with my mom, my kids.”
Aamir Khan, who has been a prominent figure in the Indian film industry for over three decades, acknowledged that he had been single-mindedly focused on his career during this time. Now, he believes it is essential to spend quality time with his loved ones and explore life from a different perspective. He is eagerly looking forward to the next year or year-and-a-half when he will not be actively working as an actor.
During the interview, Aamir said, “I feel I have been working for 35 years and I have single-mindedly been focused on my work. I feel that it’s not fair to people who are close to me. This is the time I feel I have to take some time off to be with them, and actually experience life in a different way. I am looking forward to the next year, a year-and-a-half in which I am not working as an actor.”
Khan opening up about why he quit social media!
During the trailer launch event of “Carry On Jatta 3,” Aamir Khan discussed his decision to quit social media, stating that he had never been an active user and did not feel a deep connection to it.
Khan said “I didn’t think too much before quitting social media. Actually, when I was on social media, I was just there for the sake of it. I would hardly post anything. By the way, it’s a wonderful thing. But it’s not for me.”
“I will do films when I am emotionally ready!”: Aamir Khan
When at the event, Rang De Basanti actor was asked the reason for this look and his next project, he responded by saying, “Dekhiye aaj to hume sirf Carry On Jatta ki baat karni chahiye. Aap log curious hogaye to main jaldi se jawaab de deta hu. Is waqt maine koi film sign nahi ki hai, is waqt main family ke sath waqt guzarna chah raha hu aur usi me mujhe acha lag raha hai. Kyuki wahi mujhe karna hai abhi. Jab main emotionally ready rahunga film ke liye tab main karunga. Matlab thoda time main family ke sath bitaunga.” When asked him about the reason for this look, Aamir laughed and said “look kuch nahi hai. Abhi main bas shave nahi kar raha hu aur baalo ko kaat nahi raha hu.”
During the interview, Aamir hinted at his willingness to return to the big screen and expressed his love for comedy. During the trailer launch, he urged Carry On Jatta 3’s director Smeep Kang to write a comedy film for him. Aamir said, “Write a comedy film for me. I love doing comedy. I did well in Andaz Apna Apna.”
The announcement of Aamir Khan’s temporary hiatus from acting has generated mixed reactions among his fans and the industry. While some expressed their support for his decision to prioritize personal well-being, others eagerly await his return to the silver screen. Only time will tell when the versatile actor will make his much-anticipated comeback, but one thing is certain: when Aamir Khan decides to grace the screen again, it will be a momentous occasion for both his fans and the film fraternity.
In the meantime, Aamir Khan’s break from acting serves as a reminder of the importance of balancing personal life and professional commitments.
