With movies like Ram-Leela, Gully Boy, Padmaavat, Bajirao Mastani, and, Dil Dhadakne Do, Ranveer Singh has touched millions of hearts with his great acting skills. But the journey to becoming a superstar has not been easy.
Some time back, Ranveer Singh shared how many were not convinced that he could become an actor. Even Aditya Chopra, who launched Ranveer Singh, wasn’t sure if he will do a good job as an actor. In one of his interviews, Ranveer shared what Aditya Chopra told him in his second meeting, “Tu Hrithik Roshan toh na hai, acting kar lena,”
And, no one can deny that Ranveer left many impressed with his acting skills as Bitto Sharma in Band Baaja Baaraat. With just one film, he made it clear that he has what it takes to be a good actor.
After Band Baaja Baaraat, Ranveer Singh did some fantastic work. Be it Ram of Ram-Leela or Kabir Mehra of Dil Dhadakne Do or Alauddin Khilji of Padmavaat or Murad of Gully Boy or Kapil Dev of 83, Ranveer has never left his fans disappointed.
Recently, Ranveer Singh received the Superstar of the decade award at the Filmfare Achievers Night in Dubai and he got emotional as he looked back at his journey.
Ranveer Singh recalled how his parents played a big role in where he is today.
During the event, when Ranveer received his award, he touched his parents’ feet. In this emotional moment, he gave a shout-out to his mother as well as his father.
While accepting the award, he looked at his mother and said, “Mum you were crying 12 years ago and you’re crying again, please tell me these are happy tears. Looking at you even I’ll cry so please stop, you have a tissue in your purse right?”.
While sharing how his father Jagjit Singh Bhavnani paid Rs 50,00 for his first portfolio, Ranveer Singh broke into tears!
“Do you remember, father? 12 years ago, I am going to make my portfolio. Every struggler makes a portfolio to show it to people during auditions, telling them that ‘I am a good actor, please provide me work’. Portfolio’s quotation was Rs 50,000. It was to be made by a big photographer. I told my father that it was way too expensive. My father said, ‘Don’t worry, your father is here,'” he said.
