Sanjay Mishra has played a number of great characters in films throughout the course of his 25-year-long career, including the teacher Chandragupta Sir in Hip Hip Hurray and the Shuklaji in Office Office. He has also worked on many good movies like Ankhon Dekhi, Vadh, Kamyaab. But, unfortunately, he never received just compensation for his skills.

While Sanjay Mishra has been entertaining us for over 25 years, very few know that he had quit acting and started working at a Dhaba.
It all started when he became ill while filming the Office Office movie. His tummy was in a tizzy. “They took out 15 liters of pus from my stomach,” he had told Rediff. Soon after he recovered, his father passed away. Sanjay was completely devastated about losing his father.

He was in such a distressed mental state, he was not even able to travel back to Mumbai. Sanjay mentioned,Â
“I was almost on my deathbed, ‘aur unka jaana bilkul hi mujhe tod gaya.’Â I spent a few days living with my father before he passed away unexpectedly. And his passing totally devastated me.”
This was when he decided to quit Bollywood and move to an obscure location.
“I traveled to Rishikesh to work in a dhaba preparing omelette because I needed some alone time.” I was not recognized by the Sardar who ran the dhaba. Customers, though, would approach me and inquire, ‘Were you in Golmaal?’ They would then want a picture with me. Finally, the Sardar inquired about my identity. He’d heard that I was an actor from someone.”

Sanjay’s mother eventually forced him to shave off his unruly beard and assisted him in coming to terms with the loss.
It was sometime later, that he received a call from Rohit Shetty’s office and was offered ‘All The Best’. In the comedy movie, which also starred Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu, Johny Lever, and Mugdha Godse, he became well-known for his portrayal as RGV. Since then, Sanjay has won praise for his performances in Masaan, Kaamyaab, Ankhon Dekhi, Dum Laga Ke Haisha, and many more movies and series.
It has been a challenging journey for him, but we are proud of his achievements so far. Sanjay Mishra definitely deserves more recognition and appreciation.
