Recently, we watched “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Ulja Jiya” starring Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon on Amazon Prime. Having been impressed by Shahid Kapoor’s performance in “Jab We Met,” we anticipated a similar level of magic in this recent romantic comedy. However, it turned out to be a huge disappointment. Here are five aspects of the movie that we disliked, as it ultimately proved to be a complete waste of time.
1. Too Boring Flat Jokes
So-called comedy movie with zero laughs – “Teri Bataon Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” tries to be funny, but the jokes miserably fall flat. It’s like watching a never-ending soap opera where the comedy forgets to show up. This movie is a perfect reminder of why Bollywood needs to take a hard look at its failing style of filmmaking.
2. Lackluster Chemistry Between Leads
The movie was promoted as a romantic comedy – and, one thing that makes and breaks romcom is the chemistry between the lead couple. You’d think Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon would sizzle together on screen, but it’s more like watching two magnets repel each other. Their chemistry feels about as exciting as watching paint dry, leaving you wishing for a rom-com with a bit more spark. The couple fails to make you fall for the lead couple and their love story.
3. Too Boring Screenplay
The screenplay turns out to be really messy and lengthy. With the weak character development and boring screenplay, the makers deliver a lengthy narrative filled with random scenes that fail to engage. At the end of the movie, you don’t feel a cinch about anything about any character.
4. Shahid Kapoor’s Weakest Movie
Even Shahid Kapoor’s acting skills can’t save this sinking ship. His performance feels as flat as a deflated balloon, leaving you wondering what happened to the actor who delivered talented performances like Farzi, Haider, or “Jab We Met.” It’s like watching a magician who forgot how to pull a rabbit out of his hat—disappointing and downright baffling. This movie makes you wonder why even Shahid agreed to do this movie!
5. No Connect At All
Where’s the love? Where’s the laughter? Where’s the heart? “Teri Bataon Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya” fails to evoke any genuine emotions from its audience, leaving them feeling as empty as a hollowed-out pumpkin. It is so sad that even after spending 2.5-3 hours on the movie, not a single scene stands out.
