As avid followers may already be aware, this film has been generating buzz ever since its announcement due to the debut performances of Suhana Khan (daughter of Shah Rukh Khan), Khushi Kapoor (daughter of Sridevi), and Agastya Nanda (grandson of Amitabh Bachchan). The accompanying music carries a melodious tune, leaving us eagerly anticipating the release of the complete soundtrack. The premiere of The Archies trailer took place at the Tudum event in Brazil, where the cast was in attendance.
Sharing the video on social media, Netflix wrote, “You’ve seen the gang in the comics, in books, and even in Riverdale — but this time around, you’ll see them closer to home! Set in the ’60s, The Archies builds a world that’s both familiar and new. Here’s your first look #TUDUM!”
The makers released the first look with the caption, “The sun is out, the news is out! Come and meet your new friends. Presenting to you the cast of The Archies, directed by the fantastic Zoya Akhtar.”
Zoya Akhtar had earlier said that the comic has been part of her childhood and teenage years. “I am super excited to have the chance to bring The Archies to life. It was a large part of my childhood and teenage years. The characters are iconic and globally loved, which is also why I am a little nervous. I have to make sure the film stokes the nostalgia of a generation that grew up on the comic and yet resonates with the young adults today,” Akhtar had said in a statement. The makers are yet to announce a release date.
