Prime Video’s popular reality show The Traitors is returning with a second season, bringing another intense battle of trust, deception and strategy. Hosted by Karan Johar, the new season will feature 21 contestants competing inside a grand palace while secretly appointed Traitors attempt to eliminate the other players. Karan Johar Announces The Traitors Season 2
Karan Johar announced the second season through a social-media teaser, promising a bigger and more unpredictable game filled with manipulation, suspicion and dramatic betrayals. The promo opens with the filmmaker joking that some betrayals are so memorable that they deserve a place inside a “museum of Traitors.”
The teaser also revisits popular contestants from the first season, including Purav Jha, Apoorva Mukhija, Ashish Vidyarthi, Uorfi Javed and Elnaaz Norouzi. Karan humorously claims that the former participants are now suffering from “PTSD — Post Traitors Stress Disorder” after surviving the psychological pressure of the game.
He then confirms that 21 new contestants will enter the palace and compete through challenging missions, secret alliances and constantly changing loyalties.
The Traitors Season 2 Contestants
Mallika Sherawat has been revealed as the first confirmed contestant for The Traitors Season 2. Referring to her popular film Murder, Karan introduces her by joking, “Murder karna to inki fitrat mein hai. But will she kill in this game too or…?”
Munawar Faruqui has also been confirmed as a contestant. Introduced as “the king of reality TV,” the comedian and reality-show winner is known for his sharp observational skills, calm approach and ability to understand changing group dynamics.
Several other celebrities, including Dalip Tahil, Shweta Tiwari, Elvish Yadav, Shalini Passi, Sanjay Kapoor, Rubina Dilaik, Abhishek Malhan and Rhea Chakraborty, have reportedly been linked to the show. However, Prime Video has not yet officially announced the complete contestant lineup.
The Traitors Season 2 Format
The new season will once again unfold at the grand Suryagarh Palace in Jaisalmer. The contestants will participate in difficult missions while trying to identify the hidden Traitors living among them.
The Faithful contestants must work together to uncover and eliminate the Traitors during tense round-table discussions. Meanwhile, the Traitors will secretly remove players from the game while protecting their identities and influencing the group’s decisions.
As alliances shift and suspicion grows, contestants must decide whom they can trust while attempting to survive until the end of the competition.
The Traitors Season 2 OTT Release Date: When and Where to Watch
The Traitors Season 2 will premiere exclusively on Prime Video on August 13, 2026.
Unlike shows that release all episodes together, the reality series will follow a weekly release schedule, with new episodes arriving every Thursday.
