Amazon Prime surprised us by releasing Tiger 3 on the OTT platform yesterday. In a year when we were bombarded with so many action thrillers, Salman’s return in the Tiger franchise still created a lot of buzz and excitement.
It’s undeniable that Salman Khan was the first one to spark the entire buzz around the Spyuniverse with ‘Ek Tha Tiger.’ However, unfortunately, ‘Tiger 3’ lacks the charm of the previous movies in the Tiger series and falls short of delivering the entertainment that is expected from a Salman Khan movie.
Here are 7 things we hated about Tiger 3 & why we’re glad we didn’t watch it in theaters:
1. Zero Logic
This YRF spy universe is not meant for those who look for logic. The movie tends to be more about Masala than being a logical spy movie. Even many action sequences will leave you disappointed as they resemble video game stunts, defying any sense of science and logic. Those seeking logic in movies should avoid ‘Tiger 3.’ (Also Read: Tiger 3 Twitter Review)
2. Lots of Action But Zero Acting
This movie’s all about action and sadly no acting. It’s heavily loaded with action sequences, explosions, and fights. While the stunts, effects, and camera work might initially impress, the performances of the lead actors fall short this time. It’s disappointing how both lead actors fail to evoke any emotions from the audience. Their flat dialogue delivery makes this movie a horrible experience. Emraan Hashmi makes an honest attempt to impress with his acting, but the film feels superficial, contrary to what many of us were hoping for.
3. Weakest YRF Spy Universe
Sadly, Tiger 3 turns out to be the weakest YRF Spy Universe movie with just a straightforward action drama that didn’t bring anything fresh to the table. While you’d expect a lot from a movie set in this whole spy universe thing, here, it seemed like they forgot about the story. It was all about fights and action, kinda missing the chance to be a great spy movie setting new bars for upcoming spy thrillers.
4. Disappointing Dialogues
The movie lacked any impactful dialogue, offering very few memorable moments. Slow-moving storytelling and overuse of graphics during fight scenes made the dialogues seem lackluster and the overall experience less engaging.
5. Emotionless Action Drama
Truly, the movie seemed to lack heart. It was all action with minimal emotional depth. While the fight scenes were present, they failed to evoke any real emotional impact. The film falls short in eliciting feelings for characters like Zoya or Tiger or even for the country. Even after watching the movie for almost 2 hours and 30 minutes, there’s a sense of emotional detachment.
6. Waste of Franchise Value
The movie didn’t bring anything unique to the franchise. It failed to contribute value or create any memorable moments. It simply passed through without leaving a lasting impression, disappointing fans who anticipated something remarkable from the series. This lack of leveraging the franchise’s potential is truly disheartening.
7. A Tediously Boring Story
The story? Well, it was forgettable and excessively dull, to be honest. It seemed like the movie followed a pre-set template of YRF’s spy thrillers without introducing anything genuinely new or engaging. ‘Tiger 3’ merely reinforces how filmmakers adhere to the same formula, churning out spy thrillers akin to factory-line products.
