When an 11-yo shows courage to make this world a better place, you know her parents have done their job well.
In an era when the young generation is so easily distracted by gadgets, apps, social media and much more, no one can deny the parenting challenges!
But, some great parents are acing this challenge! They are striving to make sure that their kids turn not only into good humans but also responsible citizens!
One such kid is Mahika Mishra, an 11-year-old girl from Mumbai, who put forth to Anand Mahindra, Chairman of the Mahindra group, a series of suggestions to control noise pollution.
Anand Mahindra tweeted a picture of the letter, delighted over her thought, and being assured of the fact that he’s working for ‘people like her, who want a better and quieter world’.
At the end of a tiring day, when you see something like this in the mail..the weariness vanishes…I know I’m working for people like her, who want a better—and quieter world! ???? pic.twitter.com/lXsGLcrqlf

In her letter, this little genius mentions some very valid points about how we misuse horns in India.
In the letter she mentioned,
“I go on many drives and I have noticed that many people honk unnecessarily. Especially in traffic, they do not understand that honking does not make the vehicle move.
And it wastes energy. It also causes a lot of noise pollution.
I have a suggestion that if you can only honk 5 times in 10 minutes and the honk will only last for 3 seconds. In this way the noise will be minimized.
And our roads will be quieter.”
Many people on the internet applauded her intelligence and asked Mr. Mahindra to actually take her suggestions into account.
How sweet…Children see the world through a lens we’ve almost forgotten to clean & rinse.
It would be nice to see her suggestion being implemented. ????????— Gomathi Karri Reddy ???????? (@GomathiKarri) April 4, 2019
I appreciate her thoughtfulness at this age. How certain things even children understand but adults don’t?
It is really sad that many educated people too don’t follow traffic rules.— SAMRITA™???? (@4SMSamrita) April 3, 2019
Excellent thought by a 11 year old. It’s been 3 months, I have completely given up on honking. Not a problem at all. Her recommendation should definitely be mandated by authorities and implemented by vehicle (esp 2-wheeler) companies.

Real problem solver and feels like that is the solution. Hats off to the age and the thought kid has.

Dear sir, request you to encourage her to help build the tomorrow that she wants. She took a great initiative to write to you. Please guide her further on how she can make what she desires possible.

This is a fantastic idea and thought. I think changemakers like you need to seriously consider implementing this
