Ramya dreamt of becoming a police officer since she was a child. But hardly she knew that destiny had different plans for her.
A few years ago, Ramya received the news of being diagnosed with blood cancer which shattered her dream.
But on Tuesday, Ramya’s wish of becoming a police officer came true. Rachakonda Police Commissioner Mahesh Bhagwat facilitated her wish and made her the police commissioner for a day.
It was the effort of Make a Wish Foundation that turned Ramya’s dream into reality even though for a short time. The foundation approached Bhagwat, who is responsible for one of the biggest police jurisdictions. And, told him about the sad reality of Ramya, her dream of becoming a commissioner of police and her cancer.
While sharing his praises about Ramya, Bhagwat mentioned:
“She is bright, active, confident and smiling and fighting blood cancer bravely. she deserves this,’’ Bhagwat said.
Ramya, daughter of A Narsimha and Padma is studying 2nd-year Intermediate in Sri Chaitanya College at Suchitra in Medchal District. Right now, she is under treatment at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences at Punjagutta in Hyderabad.
On Monday, when she received the news that she was invited by Rachakonda Police Commissioner to take charge for a day on Tuesday, she was extremely happy.
One of the officials also shared:
“As in-charge commissioner for the day Ramya said she would like to create friendly police atmosphere in the limits of Rachakonda Commissionerate and that she will bring good name and reputation to the Commissionerate.’’
Ramya mentioned about how she would like to prevent property offenses and control law and order problems in Rachakonda. Additionally, she also spoke about working for the protection of women.
