If you are losing hope in humanity then this heart-touching news will restore your faith.

When the helpless parents appealed people to donate stem-cells for their 5-year-old, struggling with an aggressive and rare cancer, hardly they knew how people will respond to their offer.

But when almostĀ 5,000 people stood in a lineĀ in the rain to see if they could be donors for the young boy, you know that humanity still exists.

The News That Broke Parents’ Heart

In December 2018, the life of this beautiful family changed forever.

When Oscar’s parents noticed that he had aĀ lot of bruises on the body, they took him to the doctor.Ā It was then they came to know that he was suffering from aggressive and rare cancer – Leukemia.

Olivia, the mother of 5-YO, while sharing details of their nightmare said,

“We felt like we could not see light at the end of the tunnel, but when looking at Oscar’s cheeky smile, bravery, and determination, we managed to pull our strength together again.Ā From that moment of fear and confusion, we as a family became stronger than ever.

Oscar reminded us how to fight again and just how courageous he is.

Not once has he shown weakness, nor has he ceased to amaze us throughout the most difficult times and that to us is a true warrior.Ā Oscar is a fun, loving, energetic five-year-old boy who deserves to live to the full alongside the other troopers fighting such horrific diseases.

Not only does he need to enjoy a normal life a child should live, he now needs someone else to save him”

How Humanity Came In Support Of This Little Angel

Oscar needs stem-cell donors to treat aggressive and rare cancer – Leukemia.

In order to save theirĀ little angel, Oscar’s parents launched an appeal called ā€˜Hand in Hand for Oscar’. And, their appeal didn’t fall on the deaf ears. People heard them and responded in the most beautiful way!

More than 4,800 people respondedĀ and offered to be donors if their stem-cells matched the five-year-old boy!Ā

Oscar’s teacher, Sarah Keating, shared how they were ready to fight against this disease:

“I’ve been teaching for 20 years and I’ve never had a child go through something like this.Ā You hear about children getting cancer and you think ‘that’s dreadful’, then you move on. In this case, we haven’t moved on, we will fight this.“

A teaching assistant, Laura further added:

“I couldn’t believe it. I saw him before Christmas and he was his usual happy-go-lucky self.Ā It’s a nightmare for this to happen. You can’t really do anything about it, it’s heart-breaking.Ā If a child falls over and cuts their knee you can put a plaster on it. With something like this, you can’t just fix it. That’s why we have gone into ‘action mode’ to try and find a donor.”

Our Hope For Oscar

Being mothers ourselves, we know what a nightmare Oscar and his family is living through.

Battling against cancer is never easy and when it is your 5-year-old suffering through this dreadfulĀ disease, your pain has no boundaries.

We hope Oscar courageous soul will fight successfully against this deadly disease and his parents will get the strength to not lose the hope!Ā

P.S.
Dear Oscar,
At IForHer, weĀ believe Humanity is not your hope! You are hope of humanity!
Take care and Get well soon, Darling!
