In the war-torn country Ukraine, when hundreds of thousands of people are trying to flee the country, a medical student from Haryana in Ukraine has decided to stay back.
At the time, when people are desperately looking for ways to cross borders, a girl from Haryana has refused to leave the country even though she got an opportunity to get evacuated.
Recently, a friend of her mother, took to Facebook and shared the inspiring story of Neha, a 17-year-old MBBS student, who had rented a room with a Ukrainian family with 3 children.
As the circumstances demanded the owner of the house, voluntarily joined the Ukrainian Army to fight Russians to serve his country. Neha chose to stay back to support his wife and their three children.
As per the sources, Neha told her mother, a teacher based in Charkhi Dadri district of Haryana: “I may live or not, but I will not leave these children and their mother in such a situation,”
This brave inspiring soul lost her father, who was in the Indian Army, a couple of years ago. Last year, she got admitted to a medical college in Ukraine.
Currently, Neha, who is a MBBS student, is living with with the wife and three children of the house owner in a bunker. She rented a room at the home of a construction engineer in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, as she could not get hostel accommodation.
In her post, Savita Jakhar, a close friend of Neha’s mother, said, “Neha got attached to the children of the house-owner. She got advisories to leave the country as the war seemed imminent. Her mother made frantic efforts to arrange for her daughter’s evacuation. Finally, the girl got an opportunity to cross over to Romania, but she refused to abandon the affectionate family she has been staying with at this critical juncture.
My friend tried hard to contact the embassy to get him out of there, but the girl does not want to come back leaving those three children and their mother alone in such difficult times. Despite millions of efforts of mother, the girl is stubborn to stay there till the end of the war. I’m wondering what is encouraging that child to stand with that family in such difficult times?”
