In the unfairly constructed society of today, where greed to acquire more and more is the only driving force, this image shows that happiness doesn’t always require money.
But, one can’t deny the unexpected sadness that comes along with this image.
It makes you feel sad for being a part of such an unfair and unequal society where some are traveling in private jets and some are not even able to afford a two meals a day.
Though the location and the photographer behind the viral click are still unknown, the picture has taken social media by storm and has attracted some of the great responses online!
Famous actor, Boman Irani shared:
“You’re only as happy as you choose to be”. A saying that holds true for one and all!! And I’m sure this selfie deserves more likes than most.
Famous Indian television producer-director and quiz show host, Siddhartha Basu shared what we all felt: “smile and a lump in our throat.”

Somehow, this picture managed to make us feel wanted to be part of these innocent 5 kids. Like some humans of the 21st century, we yearn for the kind of happiness that is not driven by any materialistic greed but pure love for life.
If you still feel money brings happiness then just here’s some food for thought:
Shmuley Boteach, American Orthodox Jewish rabbi, author, TV host and public speaker once said:
“Americans, citizens of the richest nation in the world, consume three-quarters of the world’s anti-depressants because materialism will never bring happiness”
So, the next time when you are sad for not owning a car or a house or other luxuries, remember:
No matter how big your house is, how new your car is, how big your bank balance is or how many sets of jewellery you own; one day we will all be reduced to worthless ASHES.
