Dreams don’t know age; they just know determination. And, one such story of determination is of 42-year-old Rahmathulla. This father, after 28 years and 3 failed attempts, finally achieved his dream of passing Class X exams.
When the Karnatka results were announced, this father came to know that he cleared Class X exams with 333 marks. And, what made this story even more inspiring is the fact that his son – Mohammed Faraan – scored 98%.
While thanking his son for his success, this teary-eyed father told Indian Express, “My father always insisted that I study and pass the 10th standard…which I did not do. But now, after nearly 30 years, I have achieved this only because of my son,”
The first attempt that Rahmathulla gave at the 10th exam was in 1994. But, when it didn’t work, he gave it another shot in 2004. While he gave up all hopes, but then his son forced him to appear for the exam. He actually stepped up and refused to let his father give up on his dreams. While speaking about his son’s contribution to his achievement, he mentioned:
“I had given up and thought I would not appear for the examination again, but my son did not leave me. He said he would train me to at least pass by attending a few questions and writing less. He used to teach me after I returned home after work. I managed to secure 333 marks to pass the examination.”
Faraan, who pushed his father for his dream, scored 613 marks. He himself aims to become a software engineer or scientist. It is quite inspiring how this child didn’t let his father give up on his dreams.
At IFORHER, we salute him and hope he achieves all his dreams and keeps inspiring others around him to fulfil their dreams.
