One woman can make a difference but together we can move a mountain. And that’s what happened recently in the Indian Film Industry.
When Tanushree Datta came forward to share about her #MeToo movement, many strong women came forward to support her. Priyanka Chopra, Farhan Akhtar, Swara Bhasker, Sonam Kapoor and Renuka Shahane.
And, we thought we should celebrate this moment when a woman comes forward to share her harassment story and some courageous people come forward to support her rather than stay quiet and meek.
Agreed..the world needs to #BelieveSurviviors https://t.co/ia82UsCkkq

I believe #TanushreeDatta and @janiceseq85 recollection of the account. Janice is my friend, and she is anything but an exaggerator or a liar. And it’s upto us to stand together. https://t.co/sF3mS5o1P8

It hurts to be #TanushreeDutta rn. To be alone, questioned. No woman wants publicity that opens the floodgates of trolling and insensitivity. What happened to her on set was intimidation. Her only fault was she didn’t back down-takes a special courage to be #TanushreeDutta.

Shahane penned down an open letter which talks about the vicious truth about Nana Patekar. Take a look at her letter right here.

If a women speaks out about abuse, you listen. Even if it’s on her deathbed 50 years after the incident, you listen. If you ask why she didn’t speak earlier or you rush to dismiss her, the problem is with you. There will be investigation; but first, listen. Period. #TanushreeDutta

We understand that it is the only judicial system that has the power to tell us who is guilty and who isn’t? But, what we expect from people is to show respect to the fact that it took a lot of courage for Tanushree Datta to bring out this shameful act! Don’t ask her why 10 years? Don’t ask her Why?Â
