Recently, a video appeared of a woman thrashing a bank manager in Karnataka’s Davangere district for allegedly sexually harassing her. According to a Times Now report, the woman had requested for a loan of Rs 2 lakh, following which Devaiyya, the bank manager asked her for sexual favors.
In the 50-second long video, you can see a woman thrashing a bank manager for allegedly demanding sexual favors. The woman can be heard asking the man to come to the police station while thrashing him with a stick.
She can be seen holding the man by his collar and later hitting him with her slipper. The incident took place on Monday.
Meanwhile, the employee has been terminated by the Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (DFHL) as the company termed the incident as unfortunate, ANI reported.
“In the light of the unfortunate incident at Karnataka’s Davanagere, we have terminated the services of the employee with immediate effect. DHFL strongly promotes & cultivates an environment that is conducive for the safety of women” the corporation was quoted as saying by the news agency.
Over the past few days, #MeToo campaign has gained pace in the country. Women are not only coming out against the sexual harassment they faced in the past, but it is also giving them strength to stand up against any such advances they face today.
