We live in an age of social media where a single video can spark a massive online debate and even alter lives. Recently, a viral video featuring a young Indian woman studying in Canada ignited a heated controversy across the internet. The video clip that went viral is about her candid confession about pursuing education abroad, revealing her long-cherished dream.
At first glance, it seemed like a touching story of ambition and personal growth. The woman openly discussed her enthusiasm for studying in Canada and viewed it as a pathway to success and self-discovery. She recounted the hurdles she overcame to reach her academic destination, inspiring others to follow their dreams. However, what could have been an inspiring narrative quickly spiraled into a hurricane of backlash and criticism! The woman became the epicenter of a Twitter storm, facing accusations of being ungrateful and disrespectful towards her home country, India.
In the video, the woman describes her ‘dream’ to leave her own country. When asked about her favorite thing about Canada, Ekta says, “You can just walk around and see the scenery, and you can see the sunrise and sunset.”
Sad that we don’t get to see sunrise and sunset in India.

Ekta, nature and its beauty are hamare desh ki visheshta.
Why do people feel they’re so elite just because they went abroad for studies or job?
Top Global Institutes don’t have even 1% of the competition that top Indian Colleges have.

It’s called study-tourism. When you can’t get into any good college in US or Europe, you choose low-hanging Canada, because that would be an ego-pumping thing.

One of my cousins went to study microbiology in Canada, he’s working at a gas station now doing accounts. Lol
I lived in Canada for a year and moved back. That one year was the most depressing year. The summers are good but winters are a nightmare. Trust me India is far better than Canada if you are well educated.
